OUR STORY
In 1990 a globe trotting Norwegian came across Chateau de Lisse by chance. He bought the property the same day! So began the adventure of restoring the property to its former glory.
“One Thousand Years of History” written by Stuart Munro-Hay reveals the fascinating history of Chateau de Lisse. Dating back to the 14th century and set in 550 hectares of forest and arable land, the chateau is one of the most historical and impressive castles in Gascony.
After the chateau & forest the owner then turned his attention to the wine making tradition at Lisse, and joined by Cedric Walker commenced the process of re-planting vines on the site of the original 19th century vineyard. With south facing slopes on calcareous clay soil, protected by trees on the north side, the site has excellent exposure to the sun.
Cedric Walker leads the team today, along with Minnie Constant, consultant Master of Wine, Virginie Mikalef and Lucinda Pryor.
